Agile Methodology

The term "Agile" relates to a family of software development methodologies that are based on four core values:

  • Individuals and interactions over processes and tools
  • Working software over comprehensive documentation
  • Customer collaboration over contract negotiation
  • Responding to change over following a plan

These values determine software engineering practices that minimize risks and maximize ROI through short development cycles, frequent releases of functionality, enhanced customer communication, and rapid adaptation to changing business needs. The result is a value-driven approach to software development fundamentally different from the traditional "waterfall" methodology.

StarSoft has been actively using Agile development methodologies since 2002. We are the global leader in applying Agile to offshore software development, with over 100 successful projects delivered to customers worldwide. Our engineers have over 300 man-years of experience with Extreme Programming and Scrum. StarSoft’s experience is a testimony to the many benefits of Agile methodologies:

  • Enhanced alignment between business and IT, uncommon levels of trust between client and supplier
  • Faster ROI through frequent release of business functionality
  • Greater visibility and control over project budgets and schedules through continuous delivery of functionality
  • Drive down the cost of change and enable quick adaptation to changing business requirements
  • Continuous customer feedback reduces risks
  • Reduced costs of future enhancements and maintenance
